Trail Hero Newsletter #4 - Driving in Downtown Hurricane
Another week in the books and one closer to the only event in Rock Sports that unites every aspect of our sport into one beautiful location. If you can’t tell, there is quite a bit of excitement on our end for this event, and telling by our numbers we feel it from our supporters as well.
Our Utah Participants increased this week by 2% to a total of 9%. We feel that in the coming months, our Utah support will strengthen as local generally sign up in the last month prior to the event. With this in mind, now is as good as any time to get your friends and family signed up. Today we sit at 63 days until our Event Kick Off and 60% sold out for the event.
One thing I love about this area besides the wheeling is all the cool things you can do for cheap or free. Take a look at our Amenities link: https://www.thetrailhero.com/amenities there you’ll find cool hikes, Attractions, Parks, and fun/non-wheeling stuff to do with the family after your trails if you desire. BTW< if you haven’t been to Sand Hollow before, there is a beautiful lake and 5 star 18 hole golf course within ½ mile of the rocks, closer as the crow flies. That link also give you great places/restaurants to eat in Hurricane, and Hotel/Camping information for the event.
Talking of Hotels, they are currently 75% sold out, get your room today or you may have to utilize hotels in Washington, La Verkin, or even St. George. We say that like it’s a bad thing, St. George is still only a 15-minute drive away, man do I love close proximity to great facilities. It’s definitely a lot friendlier than finding a Hotel from the middle of a Dry Lakebed ;). There is one thing to consider on the weekend of the Trail Hero event though… The Utah Senior Games is in St. George during the same time, so lodging my get increasingly difficult.
Lastly this important disclaimer:
We have been allowed to drive all vehicles on designated routes to and from Hurricane and Sand Hollow. Please be sure to use this route and no other if you are NOT street legal. We still recommend you use proper hand signals, have title and registration, and have a vehicle as close to street legal as possible. However, you will be allowed to travel on this road and any back streets while in down town Hurricane. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE ON STATE STREET/HWY 9 WITH A NON-STREET LEGAL VEHICLE!!! We were asked by the police that you keep this in mind. They will give citations out to those vehicles that are not street legal and travel on State Street. You may cross State Street, just do not travel on it. If you are street legal, you have nothing to worry about. OHV Designated Route can be found here: http://cityofhurricane.com/uploads/fb/gis/HC-OHVMAP_post.pdf
